Scholar Bowl starts off with a win

Wesclin’s Scholar Bowl varsity team started off their season with two consecutive wins. This year’s varsity team consists of Blake Kohlbrecher, Anissa Mumford, Owen Henderson, Collin Henderson, and Ethan Boulanger. Their first competition was on December 12th against Waterloo where they won 330-120. On January 8th, they had their second competition at New Athens, and the varsity team had an overwhelming win with a score of 380-120. Anissa had one toss up, Owen had six toss ups, and Collin had seven toss ups against New Athens. When asked about the rest of the season, senior Collin Henderson said, “I am really excited about the potential we have this year. My goal this year is to win Regionals for the third year in a row and to win Sectionals. We have a strong varsity team and I think these goals are very attainable.” Wesclin School District is looking forward to seeing how far the Scholar Bowl team goes this season.
