Wesclin Dance Team Wins State Competition

On February 9th, the Wesclin Dance Team, coached by Lisa Middleton, headed to Springfield, Illinois for the IDTA, or Illinois Drill Team Association, State Competition. The girls had to receive a qualifying score of 80 or higher at a regional competition in order to be eligible to compete at state The team competed with pom dance, lyrical, and kick routines. After spending the day dancing, the girls brought home tenth in pom dance, seventh in lyrical, and a first place victory in kick. Junior Madison Middleton said, “I’m so proud of the girls and our performances. We couldn’t have done it without each girl’s dedication and hard work. I am so happy to have such a close and hardworking team.”
