On Wednesday January, 23, senior, Noah Marlar, was named Mr. Wesclin. Contestants William Adcock (sophomore), Sonny Lunn (junior), Taylor Gooch, Jacob Brown, Dylan Flowers, and Grant Heier put on a fantastic show with great talent and many laughs. Guest judges included Tom Hund (New Baden representative), Connie Elmore (Wesclin School Board representative), Sherry Fisher (Wesclin High School guidance counselor), Cathy Powers (Wesclin social worker), and Mark Lockowitz (Trenton representative). The show was full of excitement, from Jacob Brown’s hilarious fall during his swimwear event, to Dylan Flower’s stand up comedy, and Noah Marlar’s terrific piano performance of “Perfect” by Ed Sheeran. After intermission, the top five contestants were named: Dylan Flowers, Taylor Gooch, Jacob Brown, Sonny Lunn, and Noah Marlar. After the interview question of “What is one challenge you have faced?”, the winners were named. Jacob Brown received second runner-up, Taylor Gooch first runner-up, and Noah Marlar was given the title of Mr. Wesclin. When asked about the show, Noah said, “It was an honor and privilege to be named Mr. Wesclin, and it was a wonderful experience. I wouldn’t have wanted to compete with any other group of guys.”
