High School Band
Wesclin High School is proud to provide a variety of offerings to students in grades nine through twelve interested in performing instrumental music. All band members participate in the marching and concert programs; while the jazz band is a volunteer organization.
Concert Band
The concert band is the primary performing ensemble of the WHS band program. All students enrolled in band must participate in this ensemble. The pep band for basketball games and the marching band for summer and fall events are the same students as the concert band. The concert band plays three concerts each year while concentrating on a variety of styles including popular selections, traditional marches, war-horse transcriptions, and 20th century compositions.
Marching Band
Wesclin High School has an award-winning marching program that is enjoyed by students and spectators alike. The band has performed a variety of shows, from musical medleys to concert transcriptions for the field.
Jazz Band
The Wesclin High School jazz band is a volunteer group that meets outside of school time and performs at local concerts and other area.
General Information
Travel Permission: All students must have this form on five giving permission for travel as well as medical authorization while traveling.
Uniform Information: Students must provide
*Black Socks
*T-shirt to be worn under uniform (black is best)
The following must be purchased from the school
*Shoes : $22
*Gloves :$3 (only worn with fall uniform)
Important Information:
*Long hair must be tucked inside of hat. No hair should touch the collar of the jacket (boys & girls)
*Some sort of shirt MUST be worn under the jacket
*Long pants may not be worn under the bibs; only form-fitting shorts are acceptable
*Socks MUST be black
*Modesty should be displayed at all times while getting into and out of uniform; there will always be private areas available to change
*Each uniform costs upwards of $300; take good care of it
*Fold bib properly and be sure all snaps are closed and jacket is placed on the hanger correctly (contour of hanger follows the contour of your back)
